Carol Milne has created glass sculptures which look like knit pieces.
She combined knitting, lost-wax casting, mold-making and kiln-casting.
First, she made a wax model of the sculpture and encased it by a refractory mold material which can withstand extremely high temperatures.
Then she melted the wax with hot steam, put glass pieces into the space where the wax had been and heated the mold.
After that, she cooled it over several weeks.
